Sounds a lot like the description of father/son/holy spirit in the bible. I was raised in a cult and turned away from the bible for a long time but it seems as though a lot of the concepts in it are legit.

God creating Jesus in his image and then creating all of us is a great allegory for Source/Soul/Everything else.
